Part 4

Graph the Weather Data


You can get the weather information for any city.

In this activity, you will get the temperature and wind speed for Denver and 2 other cities.

You will graph the information on charts.



Directions for Part 4:

 

  1. Print these directions. Go to the [File Menu] and choose "Print" or press APPLE-P. Keep the paper and check off the parts you finish.

  2. Click here to go to the charts page. Print the charts.

  3. Work with your teacher on how to use the charts. Here is an example of one done correctly. Use different colors for the different cities.



  4. You will collect the temperature and wind speed for 3 different cities. One will be Denver. One should be a city farther north than Denver. One should be farther south than Denver.

  5. You can use any of the weather sites listed in Part 2 to collect your information. You already know how to use USA Today's Weather Page.

  6. Color the dots on your charts everyday for 5 days. Write the numbers next to the dots.

  7. Connect the dots to form the line graph.

  8. Put your name on your paper and turn it in to your teacher.
