Part 6

Find Something Unique About Your State


Every state has something different and unique about it. Something that exists in no other state. What is it?


Directions for Part 6:

 

  1. Print these directions. Go to the [File Menu] and choose "Print" or press APPLE-P. Keep the paper and check off the parts you finish.
  2. Find some unique information about your state.
  3. Read and study the information.
  4. Look at the pictures.
  5. Read the picture captions.
  6. Print the information. (Follow the directions below if you want to take a paragraph or two out the the site and print it)
  7. Be prepared to discuss this information in your state with your teacher.
  8. Did you find any words that you didn't know? If so, use this Internet dictionary to look them up. Look up the word "unique". Try mispelling it to see if the dictionary helps you find the right spelling.

Directions for printing just a paragraph or two from a web page:

  1. Click, hold and drag your mouse over all the words you want to print.
  2. Go to the [Edit Menu].
  3. Choose "Copy".
  4. Go to the [File Menu]
  5. Choose "Quit" or APPLE-Q
  6. Start the program SimpleText or ClarisWorks.
  7. Go to the [Edit Menu].
  8. Choose "Paste".
  9. Go to the [File Menu].
  10. Choose "Print" or APPLE-P
  11. Click {OK}.
