U.S.A. Activity for 5th Grade

Part 2

Browse for Information About A State

There are several Internet sites with information about each state. You should find out all you can about the state you are researching. The links (underlined state names) below are good places to start.

"Browse" means to read, look, study, and check it out. Click on buttons. Pay attention to what is on the screen. You do not have to read every word but if you don't read anything you won't know anything.

Directions for Part 2:

  1. Print these directions. Go to the [File Menu] and choose "Print" or press APPLE-P. Keep the paper and check off the parts you finish.
  2. Find the state you want to research in the lists below.
  3. Click on the state name.
  4. Make a Bookmark or Favorite for the state's home page.
  5. As you browse, make bookmarks of anything you think you might want to see again.

This chart has links to the "official" state Internet sites. The official site is sometimes more for adults than students. Try your state first but be ready to come back here and try one of the links below the chart.
