Colorado Activity for 4th Grade

Part 2

Browse for Information About Colorado

There are many internet sites with information about Colorado. You can use these sites to learn about Colorado. The links (blue underlined names) below are good places to start.

"Browse" means to read, look, or study ... in other words, "browse" means to check it out. Click on buttons. Pay attention to what is on the screen. Look at the pictures. Play around some. Have fun! You do not have to read every word but if you don't read anything, you won't know anything, right?

Directions:

  1. Print these directions. Go to the [File Menu] and choose "Print" or press APPLE-P. Keep the paper and check off the parts you finish.
  2. Click on the links below and explore.
  3. Look for information about a topic that interests you at each site.
  4. Make bookmarks or favorites when you find something good. (See instructions for bookmarking in part 1 if you need help.)
  5. Be ready to tell your teacher what you learned. Your teacher may ask you to write a paragraph about what you found.

Colorado Links...

The Official Colorado Web Site -This is the site kept by the state of Colorado. A lot of the information is for adults but some of it is for kids. Be sure to click on the "Colorado Facts" button. You can find maps, photos, the state bird and much more.

Colorado Kids Web Site - This site has some great stuff for kids. Be sure to click on the "Museums" and the "Animal Adventures" buttons. Those lists let you visit the museums on the Internet.
